Dr. İhsan Solaroğlu earned his MD degree from Osmangazi University and completed a Neurosurgery Residency Program at Ankara Numune Research and Education Hospital. Post Doctoral Fellowship in Neuroscience at Loma Linda University with Professor John H. Zhang was followed with advanced fellowship training in neurovascular surgery. Dr. Solaroğlu’s research interests include the effect of hematopoietic growth factors on neuroprotection. Ongoing work is focusing on the role of pericytes in blood-brain barrier function and stroke. In addition, separate experiments seek to identify novel pathways underlying proliferation, migration and survival of glioma cells. He is an adjunct faculty member of the Loma Linda University in California, US.
